Improving Physical Health
In 2006 CSIP West Midlands began a programme of work to support the equal treatment agenda, including funding two Physical Health Care pilot projects targeting people with both severe and common mental health problems and the coordination of a learning event, held in April 2006, to help share learning and good practice from across the region.
A year on, in partnership with learning disability colleagues in CSIP, held a second event on April 30th 2007at the Centennial Centre in Birmingham.
This event gave delegates the chance to share their own experiences of supporting this agenda over the last year, find out how CSIP West Midland's pilot projects have progressed, and learn from the experiences of the learning disability sector. Sharing ideas and approaches
Professionals working in mental health and learning disabilities came together on 30th April 2007 for a very successful event to share what has been going on across the West Midlands to improve the physical health and well-being of the people they work with. This was a follow-up, to an event held one year ago when we launched our two Physical Health Care pilots in Telford and Wrekin and Rugby. Public Organisations and Physical Health
Some people with experience of mental health problems say that their physical health can be overlooked by healthcare professionals, despite evidence that feeling physically fit and well can help us improve our mental health, mood and well-being.
