An Introduction to the Choice Programme

Choice in Mental Health aims to extend and improve choice for users of mental health services through enabling people to express preferences and make decisions about their care.

Users of mental health services have identified four areas where they want more choice:

 

 

These four choice points are likely to be supported and monitored through Nine Guarantees. Look out for updates on the guarantees on this website soon.

>> Autumn Assessment 2005: Choice Themed Review

Choice was the subject of the themed review during the 2005 Autumn Assessment. The Choices in Mental Health: Summary of Key findings provides a national picture of the choices currently available.
