Introduction:
The existing CAMHS programme was established to support implementation of Standard 9 of the NSF for children, young people and maternity services. The programme also supports the delivery of the 5 outcomes of the Every Child Matters requirements in terms of emotional and mental health well being. Following the successful delivery of the CAMHS proxy targets in December 2006 the programme will now be responsible for sustaining current service delivery and achieving the gold standard Comprehensive CAMHS.
Regional activities for the year are:
- Support for CAMHS commissioners in the form of service level agreement and service specification templates, alongside individual.
- Delivery of the CAMHS Cultural Competency Tool and subsequent commissioning plan by the CAMHS BME lead.
- A workforce planning action learning set which will result in participants completing a workforce plan for their CAMHS partnership.
- Development of a CAMHS foundation degree.
- Support in implementation of the Standard 9 review recommendations through the ongoing delivery of service improvement sessions at the CAMHS regional network and review of partnership CAMHS strategies.
- Delivery of local learning events to ensure sharing of good practice.
The following sections include emerging policy documents, recent reports and examples of good practice.
