Mark Rayne
Today Mark leads the following workstreams of the CSIP West Midlands Mental Health Programme
- Early Intervention in Psychosis
- Out of Sector placements
- Service Improvement
Previously a young Carer and Mental Health Nurse, Mark became involved in early intervention in psychosis developments through the RECOVER Masters degree course at Birmingham University in 2001.
Mark developed an early intervention Health Action Zone project in Walsall with Professor Fiona Macmillan in 2001 and was invited as a member of the West Midlands IRIS group.
Seconded into NIMHE in 2002 as National IRIS coordinator supporting EI team developments Regionally and Nationally as well as hosting International visits from delegates from Australia, America, Denmark and Norway.
Mark joined NIMHE in 2003 as Regional development centre E.I lead supporting the development of the 18 E.I teams across the West Midlands.
Completed his masters degree course in 2003 with an early intervention thesis around the developments in Walsall.
Mark has published chapters on Early Intervention and is co-editting an early intervention book to be published in march 2009.
Mark has been working with Dr Tony Ryan around the area of out of sector placements since 2005. This has included work with commissioners through action learning sets around managing their out of sector placements and local whole systems.
Mark supports service improvement support across the west midlands and has co-developed training and development programmes which have been delivered to third sector, community teams, prison inreach and primary care liaison services.
